There are two types of people in this world…

1. Those who will do anything to get out or stay out of the hospital.

2. Those who will do anything and everything to get in or stay in the hospital.

Now, you would think that the first group would be normal people who just want to hear that they are healthy and get the heck out of the hospital and back home. But, hold your horses! That’s not always true. Most of the time these people really are sick and want out of the hospital, even if it means dying in the street instead of sticking out another day or two in the hospital. They will sign themselves out even if it means risking their insurance not paying for their hospital bills.

Now, don’t get me wrong, some people do stick it out and wait for the Dr to give them the OK to be discharged.

The other group that I really don’t get? The group that can’t make up their minds if they want to be in the hospital or not. They come in once or twice a month hoping to get admitted. Most of these people are really sick and should be in the hospital, but some aren’t.   They come in, stick it out a day or two then sign themselves out only to be back in a few weeks to do the same thing. Why come to the hospital and not let us treat you then sign yourself out?? Just stay at home, it’s a lot cheaper and the food is better.
